One Million Healthy, Happy Humans Initiative

Thank you!

Thank you for your interest in this important initiative! As a Yoga Therapist, you play a unique and critical role in transforming the lives of countless individuals in need.

Only 7% of Americans have optimal cardio-metabolic health. The numbers of people with anxiety and depression continue to rise at alarming rates. Chronic pain is now becoming one of the new growing concerns. Millions of people desperately need help.

You can help them because you are a yoga therapist uniquely equipped to address lifestyle diseases and promote wellness in body, mind, and spirit. Can you help all of them? Of course not. But you can help one person at a time. Nicole DeAvilla and the Yoga Professional Academy believe that yoga therapists can play a pivotal role in reversing these trends and are dedicated to helping as many yoga therapists reach as many people as possible.

The One Million Healthy, Happy Humans Initiative aims to help one million people connect with a yoga therapist to get the education, guidance, and support they need to either prevent or mitigate lifestyle diseases. This initiative is designed to tackle the immense health crisis affecting so many people around the world. The app will help us track the number of people assisted, ensuring we know when we reach our goal of One Million Healthy, Happy Humans.

The Birth of the One Million Healthy,

Happy Humans Initiative

From a young age, I was deeply empathetic, always concerned about others' well-being. My yoga practice has transformed this energy into positive, actionable efforts. Over my 40-year yoga career, I've helped countless people lead longer, happier lives. This passion drives me to continue helping others.

Yoga Professional Academy

I founded the Yoga Professional Academy to extend my reach, alleviate unnecessary pain, foster higher consciousness, and promote global healing. The YPA mentors and supports yoga professionals, training directors, and studio owners, providing continuing education for yoga teachers and therapists, building a strong community dedicated to delivering yogic services. Recognizing I couldn't do it alone, I now mentor the next generation of yoga professionals. This mission has attracted like-minded individuals, expanding our collective impact.

A Larger Vision

Realizing more needed to be done, I turned to prayer and meditation for clarity. This introspection led to the birth of the One Million Healthy, Happy Humans Initiative. By aiming high and tackling significant issues, this initiative has garnered enthusiastic support from around the globe. Join us in this ambitious endeavor to create a healthier, happier world.

How Does the One Million Healthy, Happy Humans Initiative Work?

There is ample evidence that yoga therapy can meaningfully change lives through lifestyle interventions, meditation, breathing practices, and physical postures. However, yoga therapy remains an emerging field, with limited awareness and understanding. This initiative aims to change that by:

  • Promoting Awareness: Highlighting the health benefits of yoga and yoga therapy in healthcare, medical settings, and the general population.
  • Guidance: Providing information on how and why to select a yoga therapist.
  • Recognition: Shining a spotlight on the field of yoga therapy and its practitioners.
  • Attracting Talent: Creating interest in the field to attract more students to study and become yoga therapists.
  • Collaborations: Educating and forming partnerships with the medical field and supporting organizations like IAYT.
  • Research: Fostering new and ongoing research to expand the reach of yoga therapy.
  • Funding: Building strong relationships with businesses and organizations to support the program.

We are excited to welcome our first sponsor, 360º Technologies, who is providing the technical platform to monitor and track progress and create data for research. We are also in talks with other potential sponsors. Thanks to the scientists, marketers, organizations, and individuals who have cheered us on and contributed to this cause, including the many yoga therapists who have already committed to participating.

Tracking One Million Healthy, Happy Humans

Yoga Therapists opt into the initiative through an app-based platform. Every month, they will log in and report the number of new yoga therapy clients they have. We will collect basic information from the therapists, including:

  • Years practicing as a yoga therapist
  • Average number of clients seen monthly
  • Place of education
  • Specialties, if any

Clients will remain anonymous, with no identifying information collected. The following data will be gathered:

  • Demographics: gender, age, location (by zip or country codes)
  • Types of issues clients seek help for (e.g., respiratory, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular)
  • Severity of issues

At this time, no follow-up will be conducted. This data will inform us when we reach one million new yoga therapy clients. The collected data will be presented in scientific studies and surveys to provide insights into the use and application of yoga therapy. We aim to create publicity around this cause, fostering a collaborative community.
